![]() ![]() ![]() The vortex start allowed players to have options in how to expand - you can go around in black arks raiding ports and dumping slaves in stable provinces to boost your economy or you can use them as support while you claim settlements on land. All of that goes away in the mortal empires campaign because your black arks are pretty much confined to that ocean. The play style of both having settlements but also using black arks to raid coasts for slaves to boost your economy is just a blast to do. The Land Lock - I absolutely adored my vortex campaign of Malus. ![]() I tried both when I keep Hag Graeth and when I sold it, and even then your economy doesn't really excel since in the dragon isles you face climate penalties as discussed above. Around three quarters of your surrounding area gives you detrimental effects that really punish you in the early game.Įxtremely weak economy - i'll be honest, the fact that you're trapped in a closed off area of the map is annoying enough, but then having him essentially unable to trade with any other factions including Malekith makes your economy tank very fast. Deserts are uninhabitable and Clan Eshin/Greenskin lands are all unpleasant climates. Lack of habitable settlements outside of the dragon isles - seriously, there's the Southlands and that's it. I'm sure a few people have caught onto this already and have posted, but I'll lay out some of the key issues I've had with 80 turns into his mortal empire campaign because after 80 turns I just decided to give up. ![]()
